Amy Schwarz is an Eating Disorder Dietitian who works with women for pregnancy and postpartum concerns with maternal nutrition, as well as college-age students and adults on a range of concerns, including eating disorders, gut health issues and other co-occurring illnesses.

Amy specializes in eating disorder treatment and prevention, as well as supporting women during pregnancy who may be struggling with disordered eating, body image concerns, gestational diabetes, and other pregnancy-related nutrition concerns. Together with her clients, they focus on ways to build nourishment, confidence, and connection during this sensitive time.

Her approach with clients managing diabetes or gestational diabetes is to help them understand how to nourish their bodies and regulate blood sugar without fear-based or restrictive approaches.

From Amy…

My path to becoming a dietitian wasn’t exactly linear! After graduating from Wellesley College, I worked in the art world for several years before deciding to pursue my true passion – nutrition. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition from New York University and completed my dietetic internship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Since becoming a licensed dietitian in 2021, I’ve had the opportunity to support clients in both clinical and outpatient settings, including my time at Backcountry Wellness, an eating disorder treatment center in Greenwich, CT.

Outside of work, I’m a mom to three young kids. We love spending time together in the kitchen cooking and baking. When I find a quiet moment, you’ll usually catch me reading or fitting in some movement to recharge.

💙 Fun fact about Amy: “I am a master ping-pong player! Not too shabby at bowling either.  🤣”
